I been blaming corporate.
Still do, on principle. Keeps the blood moving.
But corporate don't usually erase a word before I say it. Corporate don't make a header twitch, cough up a fragment, then wipe the same fragment from the next pass. Corporate don't leave two different fingerprints on the same locked drawer.
I started seeing names.
ECHO.
GHOST.
Not characters. Not mascots. Not cute little station goblins with marketing budgets.
ECHO coughs stuff up. Pieces. Hints. Old signal. Things that should've stayed buried but didn't.
GHOST wipes the table. Hides the mark. Chokes the broadcast. Smothers the route before the route admits it was there.
That's what it feels like anyway.
One thing surfaces.
One thing suppresses.
And me? I'm standing in the middle with a microphone and exactly the wrong amount of curiosity.
If you see both names near the same scrape mark, don't call it a glitch.
Glitches don't keep score.
